Kids Valentine’s Party

We are beyond excited to share this amazing party with you all today! The perfect Covid friendly Valentines kids party! Gather your quarantine crew and get party planning!

We wanted to really try and incorporate lots of fun details that are sure to make your holiday special and memorable. This party is extra special to us because we had the opportunity to present it on air. Thank you Studio 5! We had so much fun and hope you all felt a little inspired to add some details to your upcoming holiday.

We started the vision of this party with a theme surrounding ombre and we knew we had to incorporate it with their chairs! We decided to spray paint them so off to the store we went. We found a some great ones at Michaels and Joann’s. Spray paint is super easy to use and very cost effective. A few tips I learned along the way during this project is to make sure your rom temperature is at least 42 degrees or higher. It’s full blown winter here in Utah so I decided to spray paint in the garage. We added two heaters and got the area warm before I started. If you spray under colder temperatures your paint will separate and not dry well. We know times are a little uncertain right now or a bit less normal but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate, it just means we need to think a little outside of the box and find something that’ll work and accommodate al the changes. Follow along for some fun ideas you can incorporate into your holiday to make it super magical and safe.

How darling are these amazing conversation heart cakes our good friend Katie made over at Firefly Bakery Sweets! She is beyond talented and so fun to work with. Her shop offers so many varieties you can order and there isn’t anything she can’t do. She completely nailed our vision on these cakes and brought it to life. Since we waned to add a fun conversation heart bingo game (keep reading for details below) we thought it would be so awesome to bring that detail to life on a larger scale. I had never seen conversation heart cakes but was really hoping to add these to our table. I knew Katie with Firefly Bakery Sweets was our gal. I passed along my vision with complete trust and confidence and knew she was the best person for the job. Katie completed nailed it and blew us away! I was speechless when I first saw them after her in person delivery over an hour away from us. She really went above and beyond. Are they not amazing?! These cakes are not only adorable but they were delicious too! Her heart cookies topped it off and were the perfect size for kids and made for a fun added detail that each guest was able to enjoy. (You can find Katie’s info tagged over on our Instagram page.)

Keeping it Covid friendly we decided to separate out everything making sure to keep things clean, separate and safe. These Dollar Tree clear acrylic trays were such a good find! Everyone received their own piping bag of frosting, cookies, and individual candy containers o\including one of our very favorite candies, Petite Sour Hearts, from Knot and Spool. Their store is one of our absolute favorites here locally!

Knot and Spool ribbon selection is beyond and you are guaranteed to find something amazing all while being greeted by their sweet employees. If you are ever in need of ribbon, ANY type of ribbon, then this is your place. Their store offers a huge variety of items including baby gifts, home décor, holiday celebrations, yummy treats and so much more. We really wanted to showcase these ombre chairs and knew ribbon was the perfect addition. Once I called Knot and Spool they immediately got to work and added that lovely detail to our chairs by adding their specialty valentine ribbon that they selected and made for us. It was the perfect detail and brought our party to the next level! Special thanks to them and all their help on this party!

What’s a kids valentines party without bingo?! Under each place setting we added our custom made bingo cards by the Lovely Chandler at Cardall and Co. Her design work is always really well done and her attention to detail really shows off her skills. She has done several jobs for me over the years I’ve know her and each time I am amazed at her creativity and skills. If you need any design work look no further. She offers invitations, prints, paintings and is always up for the challenge with whatever you bring her way. Keeping your party theme incorporated through the details is a great way to really impress your guests. Those nostalgic conversation hearts but with a little upgrade did the trick. From candy, to cakes and now to bingo because what’s a kids party without bingo?! We wanted all of you to be able to have this so you could use it Valentines Day at your party’s so its available for free to download here on our website. Just click the buttons below! (Left image 8.5x11, right image 5x7). Enjoy, and thanks again Chandler!

One thing I always add to any of my party’s are fun drinks! Adding a simple syrup or lime/lemon to a drink goes a long way. I always have a variety of syrups on hand that pair well with any soda or drink mixture. The top of the list for my kids is always a Shirley Temple and lucky for you and me that’s an easy one. All you need is Sprite, cherry syrup/grenadine and some cherries. To follow our Covid safe theme we provided each guest with their own mini syrup and cherry containers with of course adding in that fun detail by embellishing the rims of the glasses. To do this is simple. Simply dip the glass into frosting (marshmallow cream also works good, too) and then immediately dip it into your sprinkles of choice. I went with pink frosting here and matching sprinkles to tie in with the cookies.

Each year as Valentines approaches I’m always looking for a fun and unique valentine for my kids to pass out to their class. Usually they help in the direction of that and it’s always fun to practice their writing skills as they write their classmates names on them. These were so easy and fun to assemble for your friends and neighbors, too. This year lined up perfectly with our current Covid state of mind and these donut soaps are everything! Adding a fun detail to the packaging really made this lovely and checked off all our Covid guidelines for passing out valentines this year. Of course we knew Cardall and Co. had to help us create the perfect custom tag to add and they couldn’t be any more darling! If you are needing a fun idea then look no further. We have them below for you to download. Just click the tag button and you’re set to go!

If your kiddos are anything like ours then we know they always come hungry for snacks so lastly we wanted to have some easy lunch options that followed our color theme and also provided a safe approach for your quarantine crew.

All guests received their own store bought, pre-packaged lunch with these CUTE and EASY flags that are also available for download at the button below. These scalloped containers caught our eye and tied in perfectly with our cookie trays. You can find these containers on Amazon here.
