Magical Playhouse Makeover

It was one magical morning last Christmas! I have dreamed of doing a playhouse makeover for many years and we finally pulled the trigger! It turned out wonderful and my kids have enjoyed playing in it all year round.

Step 1: Order a playhouse! I choose this playhouse “seaside Cottage” by Kid Craft. There are many out there to choose from but this was a good size for our family and I really loved the siding and window features!

If you live in a colder place like I do then spray painting can be a bit tricky! You need to make sure you spray in a warmer room because if it is too cold the paint will run. Trust me, both Brooke and I have learned our lessons on that one. Ha!

A door bell and a bell about did me in with the cuteness overload. It was the best little detail in bringing this to life. Links below on those, also.

Step 2: PAINT. Lots of painting! I choose white because it’s very timeless and it provided me with be able to order accessories in all different colors, plus white is so so cute, right?! ;) I suggest you start early enough to make sure you allow yourself time to paint about 2-3 coats. It’s more time consuming than I thought but I’m really happy with the end result.

Gold hardware features for the sink!

Every front door needs a wreath, am I right? This cutie is off of Amazon, link below.

“T’was the night before Christmas….”

Does anyone recognize this wooden flag? Brooke and I taught a craft night with Albion Fit earlier this year and these flag were added to all our pots. Each guest customized their flag. We used wood triangle pieces and dowel rods with a touch of ribbon.

Rugs and flower pots. This is basically a full functioning house at this point so maybe I should move in?! Do you think my kids could handle the cooking and cleaning and messes? The mini everything is super fun to add for dimension.

“Santa Clause is coming to town!”

Christmas lights, car and baskets to hold their stockings in were the final details and finishing touches.

“He’s making a list, checking it twice….”

Rainbows make everything better. My girls love them and it was a great way to personalize the home by adding that and also the number 3 on our front door. I’m moving in! ;)
